How this site makes money

Affiliate commissions, stated plainly. Here is what that means for you and for what you read here.

The short version

Tour links on this site go to Dewi Lestari's official listings on GetYourGuide and Viator. The featured tours are hers; this site is how her tours meet the travellers searching for them. Some articles also link a clearly relevant separate experience on those same platforms, and hotel "check rates" links go to Expedia through our travel affiliate partner Travelpayouts. If you book through any of those links, the platform pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra; the price is the same as arriving at the listing directly.

What an affiliate link is here

When a page says "check live availability and prices", the button carries our partner ID for GetYourGuide or Viator. The platform tracks that you came from us, and if you complete a booking it pays us a share of its own fee. The tour operator's price to you does not change. That commission is how the site is funded; there are no ads, no sponsored posts, and no paywall.

We only link products we actually describe

The core affiliate links point to the three tours described in full on our tour pages. A few articles additionally link one separate, clearly relevant experience at the exact spot where the text describes it, for example a standalone temple visit or a performance, always a real listing we checked, never a product swapped in for a higher rate. Hotel links appear only next to properties the text actually discusses; those "check rates" buttons go to Expedia via Travelpayouts, and room prices are always shown live on Expedia. The comparison page is still willing to tell you that a given tour is the wrong pick for you.

Where the ratings and prices come from

The ratings and review counts you see here are the operators' own listing figures on GetYourGuide and Viator, quoted as published. We do not generate, adjust, or aggregate them ourselves.

Prices are dynamic. They move with dates, group sizes, seasons, and the platforms' own pricing. That is why our pages avoid printing tour prices as fixed facts: the live listing is authoritative, and the figure you see there for your date is the real one. The same logic drives our tickets guide, which quotes only figures the official operator publishes.

Does the commission shape the advice?

The honest answer: the incentive exists, and the guard against it is checkability. Every factual claim on this site traces to the official operator or the listings themselves, and where a number could not be verified we say so rather than printing it. When the right answer for a reader is "none of these tours", as it is for people chasing sunrise on the monument itself, we say that too.
